The following projects have been selected for funding for the year 2003:

Bainbridge Island Parks & Recreation
MULTIDISCIPLINARY • $2,500

their work at the Bainbridge Commons and in

Island Theatre
THEATER • $1,580

Six bimonthly play readings at the Library,
and six potluck readings in private homes,

good theater, offering opportunities for
actors and audiences.

Island Music Teachers Guild
MUSIC • $1,150

concert at the Farmers’ Market square on
July 19 as the culminating event of IMTG’s
annual music summer camp. This public
event features Yerbabuena Orchestra, one

a free public lecture on different
types of Latin music, and Latin food.

Kristin Tollefson
MULTIDISCIPLINARY • $1,230

Publication of an artist’s book with maps,
drawings inspired by botanical illustration,
photographs, and writing about native
flora on Bainbridge Island. The 6 x 9-inch
spiral bound book, printed as a run of
200, will contain post-printing drawings
and prints by the artist, making each one
a unique work of art as well as
documentary reference. A public talk at
the Library will detail the research for the
project, which makes the connection

Bainbridge Island Historical Society
HUMANITIES • $1,195

For a walking labyrinth in the Park District’s upper Eagledale Park, providing a landscaped meditative retreat with a view of Mt. Rainier. Roman pavers will be used to construct the winding labyrinth, which is designed to create a dialogue with the environment away from everyday noise.
